Role: Android Mobile Developer Job Type: Contract Inside IR35 Location: Leeds (2 Days / Week in office)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Android Mobile Developer with a passion for building high-quality mobile applications. You'll play a key role in delivering robust and scalable Android apps using modern tools and practices. This is a great opportunity for someone with a proven track record or for someone ready to step up into a more senior Android development role.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable Android applications using Kotlin.
Implement modern and intuitive UI/UX using Jetpack Compose and follow Material Design guidelines.
Ensure robust app performance through unit testing, UI testing (Espresso), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI).
Release and manage applications on the Google Play Store, including provisioning, release notes, and updates.
Integrate apps with RESTful APIs to connect to backend services efficiently and securely.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, backend, QA, and product to define, design, and ship new features.
Apply architectural patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture to create maintainable and testable codebases.
Stay updated on Android trends, best practices, and emerging technologies like Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong hands-on experience in Android development using Kotlin.
Proven experience in publishing apps to the Google Play Store.
Knowledge of modern Android architecture components and best practices.
Experience with Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger/Hilt).
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile-backend integration.
Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration.
Experience with unit testing, UI testing (Espresso), and CI/CD workflows (CircleCI or similar).
Familiar with architectural design patterns like MVVM and Clean Architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Android Jetpack libraries (e.g., Navigation, LiveData, ViewModel).
Experience using Android Studio, Firebase, and performance monitoring tools.
Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Pay: 250.00-300.00 per day
