Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Animator with strong design and illustration skills to join our creative team. You will be central to producing animations, motion graphics, and illustrations tat bring our journalism to life across The New Arab website and social media platforms.

The role is ideal for a versatile creative professional who can combine animation, storytelling and design to deliver compelling visual content.

Responsibilities

Produce engaging 2D/3D animations and motion graphics for news and features. Create illustrations, infographics, and other visual assets to support storytelling. Edit and enhance video content with animation and graphic elements. Collaborate with creative colleagues, journalists, and editors to shape stories visually. Ensure all outputs are on-brand, visually compelling, and optimised for digital platforms. Keep up to date with animation and design trends to bring fresh ideas into our journalism.

Requirements

3-5 years' experience in animation, motion graphics, or visual design (in a newsroom or media organisation). Background in journalism or digital storytelling. Proficient in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Demonstrable portfolio of animation and illustration work. Solid grasp of visual design principles (layout, typography, colour). Experience editing video and integrating animations into multimedia projects. Creative, collaborative, and able to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills.

Desirable

Degree in Animation, Design, Fine Arts, or related field Good knowledge of politics and culture of the Middle East and North Africa.
