We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery / Driver's Mate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all items are transported to their destination in a timely manner. This role involves heavy lifting of appliances, using straps & other equipment and requires excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with drivers and warehouse staff.
Responsibilities
Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods from the vehicle.
Ensure that all deliveries are made accurately and on schedule.
Communicate with the driver regarding delivery routes, schedules, and any issues that may arise during transit.
Perform basic checks on the vehicle before departure to ensure it is roadworthy.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
Support warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and stock replenishment.
Handle heavy lifting of packages and equipment safely, following proper lifting techniques.
Cover the driving when driver is on annual leave
Qualifications
Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar delivery role is advantageous.
Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a warehouse environment.
Strong communication skills to facilitate effective teamwork.
Physical capability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
A valid driving licence is required; additional qualifications for commercial driving would be beneficial but not essential.
