We are supporting a highly regarded engineering business operating at the forefront of advanced machine tool technology. The company delivers fully engineered, high-performance metalcutting solutions, ranging from standalone machine tools to complex automated manufacturing cells.

Application Engineer - Grinding

to join a specialist engineering team focused on delivering advanced grinding solutions across Europe.

This is a technically involved, customer-facing role offering excellent exposure to world-class equipment, complex projects, and long-term career development.

The role

Your primary responsibility will be delivering the turnkey engineering package that accompanies each machine tool sale. You will support projects from initial planning through to final customer acceptance, working closely with both internal teams and customers.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and development of machining strategies for customer applications CNC programming to support turnkey projects Supporting First Article Inspection and achieving customer acceptance criteria Delivering customer training in machine operation and CNC programming Working collaboratively with engineering teams and customers to ensure successful project delivery
About you

You will have a strong engineering background with experience in a machine tool environment and be comfortable working independently on technically complex projects.

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of four years' experience within a machine tool environment (e.g. Production Engineer or Machine Tool Setter/Operator) A good understanding of NC programming (Fanuc knowledge advantageous) Experience in creep feed grinding (beneficial but not essential) Exposure to CAM software for NC programme generation and machine simulation A genuine interest in new technology and advanced manufacturing solutions Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and effective time management
Location and travel

The role is primarily based at a Technical Centre in Coventry. Extensive travel across the UK and Europe will be required to support turnkey projects through to completion.
