As an Applied AI ML Associate in the Data Science team, you will solve complex problems and develop innovative tools and models for internal and external clients. You will build and maintain code and documentation, working closely with data science, product development, and technical teams. You will play a key role in enhancing Fusion, our cloud-native data solution for institutional investors, supporting end-to-end data management, analytics, and reporting. Your work will enable seamless integration of data from multiple sources, helping clients unlock timely analysis and insights. You'll have the chance to grow your skills and make a critical impact on our team's success.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop tools using algorithmic, statistical, and machine learning approaches
Utilise cloud technology and infrastructure to perform analysis at scale
Build and maintain code base and documentation
Implement programmatic data validation by codifying conventions and data relationships
Optimise processes and improve dataset quality
Automate repetitive tasks with Python
Write maintainable and extensible code for other analysts
Collaborate with data science, product management, and data engineering teams
Contribute to the development and enhancement of Fusion's data management and analytics capabilities
Continuously learn and stay current with industry trends
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Programming experience in at least one language for machine learning (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, Rust)
Knowledge of open source data analysis tools and visualisation libraries (such as pandas and matplotlib)
Working knowledge of machine learning libraries
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., git)
Functional skills in SQL and other database technologies
Strong communication and listening skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment with loosely defined tasks
Attention to detail with strong record-keeping and organisational skills
Motivation for continuous learning
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Degree in an analytical discipline (STEM)
Experience in academic research and writing (e.g., project work, dissertation)
Basic understanding of financial markets
Experience with Agentic systems
