As an apprentice you'll be receiving practical and professional training right from the start. At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be 24,795 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.



Although we can't guarantee you a permanent job at the end of your apprenticeship, we will support you to apply for other roles within the council, and help make sure you are ready for a wider job search with support from our Employment Skills team.

About the role:

We are looking for a confident and conscientious individual to undertake the role of Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician



You will be providing technical support to the Highway Service to support the development of Highways policies, plans and projects to improve the network.



Your duties will assist in the management of the adopted highway network by playing a role in, highway enquires, contractor performance, highways safety improvments, traffic management, reviewing data, highway asset improvements and developing schemes.



You will be working towards the Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician apprenticeship with South Hampshire College Group. The duration of this apprenticeship is 36 months with 4 months for the End Point Assessment.

The salary band for this role is 24,795 - 25,185. The

starting salary is 24,795

with annual progression through the salary bands.
