The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.


We are looking for a Customer Service Apprentice to join our busy and growing organisation. They will support the inside sales and customer service functions of a manufacturing business. The role is designed to provide hands-on training in managing customer accounts, processing sales orders, and delivering excellent service. The apprentice will learn how to support sales growth, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure a seamless customer experience, while developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in customer services and sales within the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle incoming customer enquiries via phone, email, and online platforms in a professional and timely manner. Support the inside sales team by preparing quotations, processing orders, and updating customer records. Learn how to identify customer needs and provide appropriate product/service recommendations. Liaise with production, logistics, and technical teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment and delivery timelines. Assist in maintaining long-term relationships with clients by providing excellent after?sales support. Monitor and track sales orders, ensuring customers are kept informed of progress. Update and maintain the CRM system with customer interactions, enquiries, and sales activity. Participate in sales meetings, training, and the apprenticeship programme to build knowledge of products, processes, and customer service best practices

Required experience/skills/qualifications:

Skills & Attributes

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer focused attitude. Interest in sales and the manufacturing industry. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Basic IT skills (CRM systems, Microsoft Office, email). Proactive and eager to learn, with a positive attitude.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Enthusiasm for developing a career in sales and customer service. Commitment to completing the apprenticeship training programme
