. This is a paid apprenticeship role offering an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about patient care and wish to begin a career in dental healthcare.
The successful candidate will support dentists during procedures, help ensure patient comfort, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic while working towards a recognised dental nursing qualification. Full training and support will be provided.
Duties
Assist dentists during a range of private dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and setting up required equipment
Provide patients with clear pre- and post-treatment care instructions
Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes using digital systems
Ensure all clinical areas meet health and safety regulations and infection control standards
Support and reassure patients, responding to queries with clear and professional communication
Assist with appointment scheduling and patient flow to minimise waiting times
Support administrative tasks including stock control and ordering supplies
Qualifications & Skills
A genuine interest in dentistry and patient care
Previous experience in healthcare or customer service is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to interact confidently with patients of all ages
Good organisational skills and ability to multitask in a busy practice environment
Basic IT skills for maintaining digital records and appointment systems
Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and professional attitude
Willingness to enrol in and complete a Dental Nurse apprenticeship programme
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths preferred but not essential
Things to consider-
You will be required to have a course of Hepatitis B vaccinations and pass an enhanced DBS check.
