We work in a very varied sector of the electrical market and specialise in testing and inspection.

You will be working alongside other members of the electrical team so you can gain a broad and varied skillset

Daily work will vary from pat testing, electrical testing and inspection, emergency light testing, lightning conductor testing, electrical repairs and installation work

This is a to gain a Level 3 qualification as an Installation and maintenance electrician (level 3) which is delivered on block release at JTL Training Services. This apprenticeship course will take up to four years to complete.

We are looking for an electrical apprentice interested in learning to:

Understand electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and diagrams to determine job specifications and requirement.

Plan and measure the layout of the wiring systems.

Test, find and repair electrical problems.

Install and fix electrical and electronic control systems, cables, outlets and equipment.

Connect electrical equipment to power supplies

Key Responsibilities

To learn to carry out a range of electrical installations in new and occupied properties including:

o diagnosis of electrical faults

o testing and maintenance of electrical wiring

o equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures such as renewing consumer control unit, fuse/RCD/MCB; cookers, fans, fire alarm, sockets, switches, door chimes, external lighting, shower units, electrical heating systems, etc.

o using hand and power tools to current legislative standards, performance standards and in accordance with company procedures under the guidance of qualified trade employees, suited to the current level of training and development

To learn to complete all necessary paperwork and NICEIC records to current legislative standards

To attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard

To carry out necessary administrative duties including the production of timesheets and recording of safety information

To liaise and work with all other trades and apprentices as required

To understand and comply with Company policies and procedures

To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures

To attend and fully participate in regular training and reviews with mentor and line manager

To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

Ability to use IT for reporting or maintaining records

Able to work well with others in a positive team atmosphere and build effective working relationships

Ability to communicate in written and verbal form

Be capable of working efficiently, effectively, diligently and courteously

Genuine interest in working in the electrical industry

Attention to detail

Willingness to learn

Mature and responsible attitude with recognition of the importance of accuracy and safety

Good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift, work at heights and in differing conditions

The work is in multiple locations primarily across East Anglia with some working away or further distance as required. A driving licence will be required for this position.

Pay: From 8.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
