What's the role?

This role is based at our Bradford Site in Baildon.

We're looking for someone to join our Small Schemes Team within our Small Business Solutions Division (SBS) as an Apprentice Insurance Consultant.

Within this role, you won't require any prior insurance experience to get started. This is an entry-level position for individuals who are keen to learn more about the world of Insurance, whether you've recently finished your studies at school or university, or you're looking for a career change.

Alongside your team, you'll help collectively manage an existing portfolio of clients in relation to private medical insurance and/or group risk policies, developing cross-sell opportunity using the full range of services offered by the business to successfully achieve a range of business targets including revenue growth, client retention and quality.

You'll have exposure to various elements and different roles that make up our SBS Division.

We provide full training for our new apprentices.

What will you be doing?

Your day-to-day activities will be varied, but will include:

Be a point of contact for an existing portfolio of clients. Understand the sector and benefits offered. Be prepared to respond quickly and accurately to client queries. Build and support the client relationship within this portfolio of clients whilst providing advice on specific insurance products. Maintaining records in a timely and accurate manner to enable the business to obtain all relevant and required management information. Where appropriate ensure all systems are kept up to date. Conducting a market review to gather sufficient information to enable the team to make a suitable recommendation ensuring the delivery of appropriate outcomes. You'll be expected to work within the Company's established business procedures and within the rules and guidelines of the relevant regulatory environment. You'll be expected to follow process and best practice that is relevant to your role, completing all supporting documentation in a compliant, timely and accurate manner. In a collaborative way highlight and challenge where systems and processes are not effective or robust. Develop a broad knowledge of insurers' propositions and differences to provide the most appropriate advice for clients, focusing on the Preferred Provider Arrangements (PPAs) in place. Undertake all other reasonable duties as required and directed. Develop effective working relationships with employees throughout the business. Take ownership of your own individual personal development and seek coaching/training where appropriate. Complete all relevant apprenticeship qualifications (including the Cert CII qualification) and training within the agreed timescales. Attending regular 121's and meetings within external training programme.

Who we're looking for

This is a starter role with full training and continuous development provided. Experience in a customer-focused environment is desirable.

You'll be an effective communicator with fantastic people skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You'll have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Working Days

9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)

Qualifications Required

Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English

Future Prospects

After 18 months progression to an Associate Consultant. Part of a large organisation with a variety of roles to progress Support for further qualifications
