About the role




JN Bentley is offering the opportunity for apprentices to gain valuable experience and develop key skills that will help you to pursue a career in the construction industry.


Apprenticeships at JN Bentley are hands-on from day one; with a dedicated mentor to support your development throughout the course, you'll have the opportunity to work out on site and develop key skills in civil engineering and construction operations.

What you'll do



You'll gain experience of working on live construction projects You will work alongside the Site Manager and Site Engineer understanding full site operations, from site set up, construction, commissioning, handover and completion Learn how to set out line & level of structures and pipework in line with construction drawings using a variety of surveying equipment (GPS, total station, dumpy Level, pipe laser) Learn how to carry out the required quality assurance and complete ITR's (Inspection and test records) in line with company procedures. Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with supervising safety, health & environment on site in line with company standards and procedures. Assist the Site Manager & Site Engineer with the day-to-day running of the site and learn how to requisition materials and plant and process delivery tickets Learn how to produce as-built surveys and records.

What you'll need



5 GCSEs, must include grade 4 in English and Maths 1-2 A Levels or equivalent (BTEC/T Level) in a relevant subject A valid driving license is essential Ability to work professionally as part of a team Effective analytical and problem determination skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work on own initiative, to deadlines and under pressure Accuracy and attention to detail Willingness and flexibility to travel to sites across your operational region
