Contract Type: Fixed tern for 18 months
Working Hours: Full Time 35 hours per week

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Trust in the Central Finance Team as an Apprentice Finance Administrator.

You will be working to support the finance transactional processing in line with the Trust financial regulations and procedures, ensuring accuracy, compliance and best practice.

Whilst supporting the finance team, you too will be supported to complete an apprenticeship with a leading apprenticeship provider. As an apprentice, you will gain real work experience whilst developing relevant skills, knowledge, and behaviours to apply to your role and support opportunities for progression within the Trust.

This role will be based at the Trust Central offices in Wythenshawe and easily accessed by both bus and metrolink routes. Parking is also available on site.

This is a conditional fixed term post for 18 months, leading to a permanent post on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Working hours will be 35 hours per week and all year round. The starting salary for this post is Grade 2 \xc2\xa320,812. Progressing to grade 4 on successful completion of apprenticeship qualification.

Main responsibilities

  • To work towards accreditation by achieving the apprenticeship standards, completing all assignments and training
  • Supporting the finance transactional team by providing administrative support for key transactional activities
  • Maintaining and updating financial records
  • Developing knowledge of routine financial procedures, the financial scheme of delegation and financial regulations in order to ensure all transactions are compliant
  • To operate relevant ICT and finance packages including PSF, to manage financial transactions
  • To make a key contribution in supporting the finance team across all schools through the provision and delivery of a highly effective and compliant service.

What will you be doing as an apprentice?
  • Your course will include online learning, onsite assessment at work, tutorials and training activities within your role and the completion of a portfolio for assessment. You will be assigned a work-based tutor who will guide and support you to acquire and develop the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours.
  • You will also be responsible for managing your own caseload and time whilst reporting to a more senior accountant.
  • Collaborate with people both internally and/or externally at appropriate levels with a view to deliver a service that meets customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs with a commitment to professional and ethical standards, for example, professional code of conduct and duty of confidentiality as appropriate.
