Apprentice - Gas Engineer

Fixed term contract initially for 48 Months

Starting salary year 1: \xc2\xa313,187

40 Hours per week

Gas Engineering apprentices will work alongside fully qualified gas engineers, working on all different types of gas appliances including servicing, repairs and maintenance as well as installations of new appliances and heating systems, gaining as much experience as possible whilst also attending college in block weeks. You will gain a Domestic Natural Gas Installation and Maintenance - Level 3, nationally recognised qualification at the end. All of this will be supported by the team around you, ensuring you are getting the best out of your apprenticeship!

You will work in a team of 22 members in the Southwest Gas Team area, completing tasks such as services, repairs and installs on Sanctuary properties. This opportunity will give you a chance to earn valuable practical experience in providing a reactive gas Maintenance & Repair service, undertake gas boiler and heating system replacements, along with learning invaluable customer service skills essential to build and maintain a successful career in the gas and renewable industry.

What skills and abilities do I need to have?

On top of this, practical skills we are looking for are;

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (grades 4 - 9) or equivalent in Maths and English
  • A keen interest in practical and technically challenging workloads within a rewarding gas and renewable industry
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills
