Transpennine Route Upgrade

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a Programme of activities that is improving the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield.

\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bStretching across the North of England, this key 76-mile Transpennine railway serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under 285 bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 29 level crossings.

Proposed improvements as will deliver a hard-working, reliable railway for passengers, allowing for trains with more seats, more services and faster journey times.\xe2\x80\x8b

Brief Description

To manage and coordinate the administrative arrangements for various apprenticeship and graduate programmes taking place across the major programme, and work alongside the programme supply chain partners to effectively support apprentices and graduates working on the programme.

To be the primary contact for queries and feedback from line managers, apprentices, mentors, and training providers.

About the role (External)

Some of the key accountabilities of this role are:

1. Manage the administrative arrangements for various apprenticeship and graduate programmes taking place across the major programme to enable all elements of each programme to be effectively completed by each apprentice and graduate.

2. Coordinate and provide the support required for the recruitment and onboarding of apprentices and graduates, working closely with the Network Rail and supply chain partner\'s Resourcing teams.

3. Manage the monitoring of apprentice and graduate performance across the programme, not limited to those employed via Network Rail, in conjunction with their respective training providers, such that accurate performance progress records are maintained.

4. Maintain regular contact with apprentices, graduates, line managers and mentors to understand their experiences within the major programme, providing pastoral support where necessary and escalating issues to key contacts within the programme or the relevant supply chain partner\'s HR team.

5. Co-ordinate the purchasing and provision of any key resources and equipment apprentices and graduates require, working alongside Network Rail and supply chain partner\'s HR teams.

6. Co-ordinate the collation of stakeholder feedback to support the ongoing review and development of apprenticeship and graduate programmes, and work with the apprentice and graduates\' programmes manager and training providers to resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.

7. Maintain records of training and development activities undertaken by apprentices and graduates, to demonstrate that the required levels of competency are achieved.

8. Collate regular updates upon the progress of apprentices and graduates, to be shared with the major programme senior leadership team.

9. Co-ordinating timetables, schedules, rotations and inductions for the apprentices and graduate population

We need you to have:

\xc2\xb7 Successful experience of supporting the delivery of learning and development initiatives and projects

\xc2\xb7 Excellent attention to detail relating to the planning aspects of this role

\xc2\xb7 Relevant successful administration experience, particularly in dealing with large volumes of people and data

\xc2\xb7 Successful experience of working within a large, complex organisation

\xc2\xb7 Proven excellent organisation and interpersonal skills

\xc2\xb7 Proven influencing and negotiation skills

\xc2\xb7 Computer literate with experience of using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

\xc2\xb7 Able to demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written), including an excellent telephone manner and proven ability to communicate at all levels

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge and experience of training administration

It would be advantageous if you have:

\xc2\xb7 Experience of supporting apprentice and / or graduate programmes

\xc2\xb7 Rail, Engineering or Construction sector experience

\xc2\xb7 CIPD Level 3/5 in learning & development or equivalent experience

\xc2\xb7 Experience of using data sources to aid reporting, such as Power BI dashboards

This vacancy is Band 5, salary: circa \xc2\xa327,000 per annum dependent on experience
