Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Pupils
Build positive working relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
Respond to individual needs to ensure effective support and meaningful interaction.
Assist in ensuring pupil safety while enabling access to learning activities.
Promote inclusion, acceptance, self-esteem, and independence among all learners.
Encourage engagement with peers and participation in group or teacher-led activities.
Provide feedback to pupils, supporting their understanding of progress and achievement.
Deliver one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, as directed by the class teacher.
Supporting Learning Activities
Assist in delivering structured learning activities and small group sessions.
Support the implementation of literacy and numeracy programmes, track progress, and report outcomes to the teacher.
Encourage the use of ICT and support pupils in developing confidence and independence in its use.
Prepare, maintain, and organise resources to meet lesson plans and learning objectives.
Supporting the School Community
Comply with school policies and procedures including safeguarding, data protection, and health and safety.
Promote equality and ensure all pupils have access to learning and development opportunities.
Contribute to the school's values, vision, and improvement initiatives.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to enhance pupil outcomes.
Participate in relevant training, team meetings, and professional development activities.
Supervise pupils outside of lessons when required (within working hours), including before and after school.
Support school trips, enrichment activities, and off-site visits as needed.
Show respect for all pupils and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and high-quality education.
Reflect on your own practice and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
