Are you looking to kick-start your career? Do you enjoy making things, mending things, or tinkering? Then our Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship in the Property Division could be for you.



Imperial has a vast estate, spread across multiple sites in London and the Southeast. We need skilled Maintenance Technicians to keep our buildings and facilities working, providing a safe and functional environment for our students, staff, and visitors.



As our apprentice, you will be supported to develop the skills and knowledge to be able to provide a range of preventative and reactive maintenance to building systems. Over the four-year apprenticeship, you will work towards becoming a fully qualified Maintenance Technician - a profession that is always in demand.


What you would be doing


---------------------------


Apprentices will be trained by experienced colleagues and our specialist contractors to undertake maintenance and repairs to electrical and mechanical plant and equipment and associated building systems, including cold and hot water systems, heating systems, ventilation, electrical systems, and much more.



You will have work placements and gain hands-on experience with other Property Division Team - Find out more about the Property Division



You will combine your workplace training with a weekly day-release programme of practical and classroom-based sessions, fully aligned to the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Service and Maintenance Engineer apprenticeship standard, and delivered in Dagenham, Essex.



As well as earning a competitive salary, you will build a wide range of technical skills and gain a formal qualification that will help you in your future career.


What we are looking for

No prior experience is required Applicants will need (or expect to gain) grade 9-4 (A-C) at GCSE in Maths and English
We are looking for people who are passionate about making or mending.

To be considered for interview, you are required to complete the application with examples of things you have made or repaired, which could include projects at home, work or school. Please note that applicants who do not provide a supporting statement will not be considered for interview.
