Where will you be working?





We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We're problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.


You'll be working within our MEICA and capital maintenance team

.

Our Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) experts offer a one-stop solution, including ongoing operation and maintenance services.


This role will be within our Southern Water contract, working out of our Falmer, Brighton depot.

What will you be doing?





This 3-year programme will develop your practical, technical and soft-skills, with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Engineering Design Technician Level 3 qualification and a permanent, long-term career with M Group Water!


You'll learn to interpret technical information to establish design requirements We'll show you how to identify, analyse and evaluate factors affecting technical designs You'll learn how to develop engineering concepts and design options to solve technical challenges and determine the most appreciate solution You'll learn how to contribute to the production, review and distribution of the final design package You'll learn how to update designs to incorporate any changes made to as built drawings We'll show you how to update and maintain documentation and data according to the required change management process, including maintaining and issuing drawing registers. You'll assist in the selection of materials and components for their application in designs. Learning to produce new and update existing parts lists and bills of materials (BOMs) for associated designs You'll learn to produce detailed mechanical drawings or models (part and assembly level). Use digital technologies and techniques such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) to produce detailed 3D models. You'll learn relevant industry codes of practice, regulations, standards and procedures. Safety is our licence to operate! You'll champion health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.

What you'll bring



Valid UK driving licence Have the right to work in the UK Achieved grade 4-9 in English and Maths or be willing to undertake Functional Skills, which is equivalent to GCSE qualifications Effective communication skills Keen to learn with an interest in development and progression Passionate about the industry Hardworking Reliable, with excellent attendance and timekeeping Ability to use own initiative Must have a 'can do' attitude
