About the role

The apprentice will work as part of a team which provides Engineering support for Draeger manufacturing, by determining, implementing and supporting the most appropriate methods and equipment for production needs. This will include Jig and fixture concept development, design and supply through internal and external suppliers. Project management of improvement initiatives, new product introductions and development and supply of associated equipment and processes.

They will develop knowledge of the company\'s products and systems in order to best support these developments.

To design, realise, document and maintain robust, user friendly solutions that provide the required functionality and performance levels to support Draeger manufacturing processes.

They will work with and learn from multiple stakeholders and teams across different departments within the business in order to gain a well rounded experience and knowledge of the manufacturing business. This will also include external suppliers of services and equipment.

Approaches to solutions will always be data driven so the apprentice will learn how to collate, analyse and make data and fact based decisions with involvement of appropriate stakeholders.

Additional duties will include project work and periodic support for other business areas depending on Company needs.

Specific skills to be developed will and may include:

\xc2\xb7 Mechancial and Production Enigneering

\xc2\xb7 Design for Assembly and manufacture principles

\xc2\xb7 Failure mode and effects analysis

\xc2\xb7 Process control charts

\xc2\xb7 Team based approach to fault finding and root cause analysis

\xc2\xb7 Risk assessment

\xc2\xb7 PLC programming

\xc2\xb7 Robot programming

\xc2\xb7 Use of minitab and 6 sigma techniques.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of lean manufacturing

\xc2\xb7 Project management

Grade 4 (Grade C) or above in Maths, English and Science or equivalent

Genuine interest in Engineering

General IT knowledge

Willingness to learn

Self- motivated.
