Where will you be working?





We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We're problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.


This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team

.

Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.



This role will be within our Thames Water Capital Delivery Programme, working out of our Reading depot.



Projects will range in size, complexity and value across this framework. They include shafts construction, pumping stations, trunk mains cross country pipe lines, deep drainage, de-watering, directional drilling, tunnelling and MEICA works.

What will you be doing?





This 24-month programme will develop your practical, technical and soft-skills, with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Civil Engineering Senior Technician Level 4 qualification and a permanent, long-term career with M Group Water!


You'll learn both industry and safety regulations, business policies & procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety practices. You'll learn civil engineering principles, design practices, and construction techniques. You'll learn a variety of project management methodologies and tools We'll teach you how to oversee multiple projects from inception to completion, problem solve, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensuring they run on time, are cost efficient and are deliver right first time. You'll learn how to lead a team and become the point of contact for the Client and stakeholders. You'll liaise with internal and external stakeholders i.e. the delivery team , co-ordinate project stakeholders such as highways, local authorities, Thames Water operations throughout the target cost setting, design and delivery phases of a project. We'll need you to deliver excellent customer service and achieve above target customer satisfaction scores. Minimise/reduce the number of complaints received. Safety is our licence to operate! You'll champion health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.

What you'll bring (no more than 75 words)




Valid UK driving licence Right to work in the UK Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above). A relevant level 3 qualification e.g. A Level EEE - Must include Mathematics and preferably a Science in either Chemistry or Physics (UCAS points: 48), T-level (Pass or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning. (UCAS points: 72), BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma MPP in an Engineering subject area or Construction and Built Environment area (Must include Mathematics and Further Mathematics) (UCAS points: 64), BTEC Level 3 National Diploma MM in an Engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. (UCAS points: 64) or Civil Engineering Technician level 3 apprenticeship MP (UCAS points: 48) alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA Effective communication skills Keen to learn with an interest in development and progression Passionate about the industry Hardworking Reliable, with excellent attendance and timekeeping Ability to use own initiative Must have a 'can do' attitude
