This is a fixed term post for 27 months.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to kick start their career in trading standards as an Apprentice Regulatory Compliance Officer.
You will join our dynamic and innovative team, protecting Stoke-on-Trent residents and supporting local business to thrive in a fair trading environment.
You will undertake the Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship, developing your skills to assess compliance of businesses with consumer protection regulations, and advising the general public on consumer issues.
Working under the supervision of our team, you will support the service in providing advice to residents, inspecting businesses, and conducting investigations for further enforcement action.
You will be educated to Level 3 (e.g. Level 3 apprenticeship; A levels; BTEC; T level) with 5 GCSE's including English and Maths (or equivalent Functional skills level 2) and willing to undertake up to 16 months training including an end-point assessment to complete the qualification.
You will have some experience of customer service, and be able to communicate clearly in person, and in writing, with a wide range of people.
You will have a confident approach, with some ability to interpret basic legal information, and to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
You will be a self-motivated, reliable team member.
We offer a full training package, plus continuous on-the-job training to support you to achieve this qualification and start you on your way to a career in Trading Standards.
