We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Carpenter Apprentice to join the site carpenters on a redevelopment site within Tunbridge Wells. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in carpentry and construction while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced carpenters, learning the trade and contributing to various projects whilst working towards a Level 2 Carpentry qualification.

This placement will give you a good basis in first and second fix carpentry with an initial focus on flooring before moving onto other aspects of the role that will, in time, give you the full set of skills you would need to become a qualified site carpenter.
Responsibilities
Assist in the fabrication and assembly of wooden structures and frameworks.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks.
Participate in roofing projects, ensuring proper installation and maintenance.
Support joinery tasks, including fitting doors, flooring,windows, and other fixtures.
General work assisting the carpenter including site preparation, clearance and maintaining general site tidiness as directed.
Carry out heavy lifting as necessary to assist with materials and equipment.
Assisting in building and installations, inspections, removal, replacement, and repair of works in progress.
Drawing and working out technical calculations where required.
Attend site briefings, meetings, toolbox talks, inductions, team meetings and raise any concerns that you have with the Line Manager.
Measuring, marking up, cutting, shaping, fitting and finishing timber as directed by the team.
Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications
A keen interest in carpentry and construction with a willingness to learn.
Basic knowledge of fabrication, assembly, hand tools, power tools, roofing, joinery, plumbing, masonry, and electrical experience is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on-site.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Maths & English GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent
