About the Role

Leeds City College are recruiting for an Apprentice Maths Teacher to join our School of Social Sciences based at Quarry Hill Campus. The team delivers Entry Functional Skills & GCSE Maths to both 16-18 and Adult learners who are enrolled on a Study Programme or a Full time course in Education & Early Years, Public Services or Health Science and Social Care.


As an Apprentice Teacher, you will gain on the job experience, whilst also working towards completing your Teaching apprenticeship - on completion you will gain a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds.


You will also receive support from our dedicated Teaching, Learning and Assessment team who share their expertise and guidance on best practice to our teaching colleagues at all levels of their career.


As this is an apprenticeship role, it is fixed term for the length of the apprenticeship - 24 months.


What You Will Do
Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of on-line learning resources. Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules. Create effective assessment activities, provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve. Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes. About You
Good general education including Maths and English Level 2 or above (or GCSE Grade 4 or above). Level 3 qualification, such as a level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship, A-Levels, BTEC or NVQ Experience of working with & supporting young people in an educational setting Enthusiasm and resilience are important.
