A exciting opportunity to join our team and become a fully qualified level 3 Nursery Officer/Early Years Worker.

Candidates must have a genuine interest in childcare and education and be committed to pursuing a career in early years. Experience of working with children aged 0-5 years would be advantageous. The post is for a minimum of 30 hours per week, However you may be required to work more hours when the nursery needs extra staff cover.

We are looking for a Childcare Apprentice to join us at our busy nursery. You will be working as part of our team and you will be supported by our existing qualified and experienced early years professionals who will help you whilst you learn your role and study for your qualification at Level 3 in Childcare. Your apprenticeship could lead to a permanent position within our company.

You need to be able to follow procedures and work as part of at team; follow instructions and be able to use your own initiative, communicate well with children, parents and colleagues, enjoy engaging with and caring for children, have an easy going and friendly personality, be reliable, trustworthy and committed. You must have a positive outlook and a ready to learn attitude.

Your duties include:

Carry out duties as directed by qualified Nursery Officers and Senior Staff.

Provide stimulating activities and engage with children to enable the children to develop and learn.

Carry out duties fully and to a good standard.

Have a responsibility to ensure the children are kept safe.

Follow strict cleaning and hygiene procedures in the nursery.

Assist in the provision of a friendly, secure, safe and clean environment.

Maintain a good standard of records including children's development and information needed to be shared or logged on a daily basis.

Take some active part in planning meetings and staff meetings.

Fully commit to your study and Apprenticeship with your nominated college/course provider.

You will be required to access our training programmes in safeguarding, food safety practises and paediatric first aid as a minimum.

You must have Maths and English GSCE grade C/level 4 or above or equivalent. Without these qualifications you are unable to be on the Apprenticeship programme therefore you will not be able to apply for this position. You will be asked to provide original certificates of your grades for us to pass onto the apprenticeship provider before the interviews will be held.
