Job Overview:
Due to the continued growth of our business, we have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Valve Technician to join our team. This will be a four-year apprenticeship working with time-served colleagues within our factory at Whitburn, attending Forth Valley College on a day release basis. This role would be suited to a local, self-motivated individual with an interest in Mechanical Engineering.
What Skills will I learn?:
You will gain knowledge in the identification of valves and their functions. You will develop skills in strip down, clean, defect identification, reassembly and testing of valves and associated equipment. This will require an understanding of and reference to relevant standards and client specifications. Teamwork, problem solving, and interpretation & communication of technical terminology. You will also be trained in the use of work equipment, manual handling, risk assessment and the values of maintaining a safe and well organised work environment.
What qualifications or qualities are required?:
The ideal candidate must be keen, enthusiastic, with a strong interest in working in an engineering environment. Advancement within the business is always a potential for those who show determination, willingness and strength in ability.
