About the role

We offer a competitive hourly rate of between \xc2\xa322.61 and \xc2\xa326.32 per hour. In addition, we pay a 15% annual leave entitlement per hour. These rates include preparation time, marking time and travelling.

This is a zero hours (bank) contract. The amount of work you are offered will depend on how many apprentices need to complete the Functional Skills English and/or maths qualifications.

About the Role

We are looking for inspirational tutors to deliver Functional Skills English and maths predominantly at Level 2 to apprentices aged 16+. If you have a passion for teaching and believe in helping learners achieve their life goals, we would love to hear from you!

Teaching sessions are delivered virtually using MS Teams as well asface-to-face at one of our training centres (usually at Woking Adult Learning Centre). Sessions are delivered in small groups or on a 1-1 basis.

As an Apprenticeship Functional Skills Tutor you will be focused on teaching, inspiring and supporting learners to successfully complete their Functional Skills English and/or maths qualification.

To be considered for shortlisting for interview, you will need:
  • To hold a professional UK teaching qualification, (e.g., minimum of Level 3 Award in Education & Training / PTLLS or equivalent).
  • To hold English and maths qualifications at level 2 or above.
  • To have experience of teaching learners in a face to face and online classroom environment.
  • To demonstrate a commitment to providing excellent learning opportunities for your learners.
  • To be able to adapt teaching and learning strategies and select resources as appropriate to meet individual learner needs.
  • To be confident in the use of IT.
