We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker. This apprenticeship opportunity offers hands-on training and practical experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry, allowing you to develop essential skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Learn and apply sheet metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling metal components.
Assist in the operation of machinery and equipment used in the fabrication process, following safety protocols and guidelines.
Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications.
Measure and mark out metal materials accurately according to project plans.
Assist in the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products, ensuring high quality and precision.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and meet customer expectations.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges as part of the apprenticeship program.
Requirements:
Strong interest in pursuing a career in sheet metal fabrication.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical principles is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning and development.
Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program and gaining relevant qualifications.
Training and Development:
As an Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker, you will receive comprehensive training and support to develop your skills and progress in your career. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, participate in structured training programs at college, and gain recognised qualifications in sheet metal fabrication. Candidates will be able to discuss what academic route they wish to take before securing a course in September 2025 as there is the hands on route of fabrication and welding qualifications, cnc and cam machinery qualifications, or for the right candidates demonstrating relevant qualifications there is a route into engineering / product design courses.
Note: This is a paid position.
