Approved Electrician - Electrical & Industrial Installations

North Wales & Chester | Full-Time, Permanent | Company Vehicle Provided

Due to continued growth and a surge in demand for high-quality electrical services, Thompson Contractors Ltd T/A Thompson Renewables, Electrical and Mechanical is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Approved Electrician to join our expanding team.

This role involves a wide range of electrical works across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments, including power and lighting installations, consumer unit upgrades, testing & inspection, and electrical maintenance. While we also undertake renewable energy and EV charging work, this position is primarily focused on core electrical contracting.

The Role

- Carry out electrical installations across residential, commercial, and industrial environments
- Deliver work involving power distribution, containment, and final circuit wiring
- Occasionally support solar PV, battery storage, and EV installations as needed
- Complete NICEIC certification and ensure compliance with the latest regulations
- Implement and follow strict Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Lead or assist project teams when required

Key Requirements

- Approved Electrician status preferred
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified
- Full UK driving licence
- ECS card (preferred but not essential)
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in electrical installations
- Knowledge and practice of Health & Safety procedures essential
- Able to work independently or lead a small team
- Available for occasional overtime or out-of-hours work
- Willing to travel where required for specific project needs

Desirable Skills & Qualifications (Training Provided if Required)

- City & Guilds 2391-52 (Inspection & Testing)
- Experience with industrial electrical systems (factories, workshops, plant)
- Exposure to solar PV or battery storage installations
- City & Guilds 2919-01 (EV Charging Installation)

Salary & Benefits

- 17.00 - 20.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Pay review after 6-month probation period
- Company van or car provided
- Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
- Some overtime may be required
