We are looking to recruit an Aqua Chain of Custody (CoC) auditor to the team. This is a permanent full-time post, working with the Aqua Chain of Custody Scheme Manager to support the commissioning and conducting of Chain of Custody audits. The role offers the opportunity to work with both new and existing clients seeking certification against standards such as the MSC, ASC and GGAP in both local and far away destinations around the world.
Our team is currently made up of individuals located all over the UK and predominantly home based, with the occasional departmental meetings.
Duties and responsibilities
Project Management
Project manage assigned projects, including but not limited to: following up timelines, delivering outputs on time, controlling quality, producing reports, audit planning, activity planning and delivery, following costs and keeping in budget, working and communicating with clients and other stakeholders, monitoring and reporting progress to the CoC Schemes Manager.
Complete CoC audits and other related assessments as required and within timescales specified in the Scheme Certification Requirements.
Ensure the effective scheduling and planning of own audits, taking into consideration geographical locations.
Escalating any potential issues to the CoC Schemes Manager.
Assisting the CoC Scheme Administrator with occasional administrative tasks
Ensuring databases and profiles are updated with relevant project information in a timely manner.
Point of Contact
Provide advice and assistance in response to enquiries received from both new and existing clients.
Work with the CoC Scheme manager and sometimes with the standard owners proactively in feeding back any issues or difficulties encountered when interpreting the Certification Requirements.
Compliance
Assist the Accreditation Manager in the timely resolution of nonconformities raised either internally or by an external accreditation body.
Ensure that own on-going training is kept up to date as specified in the appropriate scheme certification requirements.
Conform to the competency and qualification criteria listed in the appropriate scheme certification requirements.
Ensure that all audit reports are completed and quickly passed to the Scheme Administrator so that they can be uploaded within the timescales set out in the Certification Requirements.
And any other duties that may be agreed between the post-holder and their manager.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
Education and Experience
A degree or equivalent in business, economics, science or technical subject (e.g. Aquaculture, food/seafood science, fisheries sciences, supply chains and logistics management) AND A minimum of 2 years' experience gained after finishing post high-school studies and overall 3 years' experience in industry.
OR
A post high-school (post-secondary education) diploma with a minimum duration of 2 years in a food related or similar discipline AND A minimum of 4 years' industry experience either in a practical capacity on a site or farm or in a technical role in industry.
Skills and characteristics
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver professional reports;
High level of attention to detail;
Excellent time and project management skills;
Ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment
Willingness to travel when required (generally short trips for the completion of site visits)
Desirable Qualifications and Competencies
CQI / IRCA training course pass or registration as an EMS/QMS auditor with CQI/IRCA or Exemplar Global or have passed an ISO 19011 3 day course provided by a recognized CQI / IRCA or Exemplar Global training provider auditor qualification
Demonstrate professional experience in one or more of the following areas: aquatic or marine resource management, Aquaculture farm experience, Wild Capture fisheries product sourcing, Supply chain management or supervision.
Professional Proficiency in spoken and written French, Spanish and Danish in particular, but other languages will be advantageous.
Mobility
The role will require travelling, therefore having a Full UK driving licence and access to an appropriate vehicle is essential, as is an up-to-date valid passport for the occasional international travel. The role will be home based.
