Weekend Aquatics assistant vacancy

Working 1-2 days at the weekend for 4-6 hours/ shift

Planet Pets is based on the Royal Quays outlet centre and sells a range of animals and aquatics. If you are a sales driven, entrepreneurial individual with a business mind and a passion for aquatics then we want to hear from you!

We are looking for a part time team member to join our store which sells aquatics and reptiles. We have a range of tropical and cold water fish and then a selection of reptiles and inverts We then stock a range of dry foods and accessories for and we serve a range of customers every week from passing trade to our local regulars.

The main aspect of the role will be driving standards across the store and maximising sales through serving and advising customers and offering excellent customer service at all times.

A strong knowledge of tropical fish is essential (this is not a learn on the job opportunity). You will be tested in interview across all knowledge areas including identifying fish and their care, water quality and tank maintenance and previous experience of keeping a range of fish is essential. You will need to advise customers in all areas and refine the product range throughout the year to push margin and drive sales.

The shop also sells reptiles, birds, small animals and a full range of pet products which you will be selling.

Details

You will work 4-10 hours a week across 1-2 days days at the weekends. More hours may be required occasionally to cover holidays and for out of hours delivery's, meeting's etc.
