Stephen George + Partners LLP (SGP) Architects and Masterplanners, are an award-winning AJ Top100 practice, established in 1970 with 5 regional offices.
What is the role?
An opportunity has arisen in our Longbridge office for an Architect to work in the industrial logistics sector. The role would ideally suit an individual who is motivated to work with our major clients in the delivery of a varied selection of projects across the country during the construction stage.
What does the role entail?
Project running possibly on more than one site.
Working individually and with colleagues to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Working with clients and other consultants to manage workload, outputs and project milestones.
The production of construction stage drawings, mainly in Revit, but very occasionally in AutoCAD.
Production of technical packs, including General arrangement drawings and technical details.
Working in small project-based teams within the office and digitally across offices.
Visiting site and external organisations' offices for Design Team Meetings, site reviews, snagging and client and/or contractor meetings.
What Skills & Experience do I need to have?
To have led projects ideally in the industrial sector, but if not in the commercial sector.
Proven use of Revit on construction projects and a good understanding of the package (please note there is a Revit assessment as part of the interview process).
Very good oral communication skills to build rapport with the client and the other parties involved in the project.
Good experience of visiting sites through their build, reviewing what has been constructed on site ensuring it meets the requirements set out on our drawings.
Self-motivation and the ability to also work independently.
An openness to take constructive feedback, which will be given to assist in your development.
Accountability for the information produced, ensuring it meets the required technical standards that the practice adheres to.
Excellent written and well-structured drawings skills.
