Summary
We are seeking a
Retrofit Designer (Architect - ARB)
with expertise in energy efficiency and insulation technologies to join our team. This role also involves a strong
Quality Coordinator
function, ensuring all installations meet the required standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing retrofitting projects, ensuring that the specifications for insulation, renewable energy systems, and other energy efficiency measures are correctly implemented. You will also coordinate quality control, performing post-installation checks and reviewing photographs submitted by installers to ensure compliance with PAS 2035, building regulations, and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed designs and specifications for energy efficiency retrofit solutions, including EWI, CWI, IWI, RIR, boiler systems, and HC technologies.
Work with project managers and installers to ensure all designs meet the client's energy efficiency goals and comply with relevant building regulations and PAS 2035 standards.
Conduct on-site surveys to assess properties for energy efficiency upgrades and prepare technical design reports.
Provide technical support and guidance to installers during the installation process to ensure the design is implemented correctly.
Act as the
Quality Coordinator
, overseeing the quality of all retrofit installations.
Review installation photographs and documentation submitted by installers to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Perform regular follow-ups with installers to ensure quality assurance protocols are followed and deadlines are met.
Identify any issues with installations and collaborate with the installation team to resolve them promptly.
Conduct post-installation checks to verify that the installations meet the required quality standards.
Ensure that all work adheres to PAS 2035:2023 standards and other relevant guidelines (e.g., Building Regulations, energy efficiency benchmarks).
with professional experience in the construction or retrofit industry.
Strong understanding of
retrofit design principles
, renewable energy solutions, and energy efficiency technologies.
In-depth knowledge of insulation techniques, including
EWI, CWI, IWI, and RIR
systems.
Proven experience in
quality control
for retrofit projects, with a focus on compliance with industry standards (PAS 2035, building regulations).
Excellent organizational skills with a
strong ability to follow up
with installer to achieve 100% first pass yield.
Ability to review installation photographs, check compliance, and identify issues based on photographic evidence, with strong follow-up with installers to avoid failures.
Strong
communication skills
with the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and installers.
Desirable:
Experience with
government energy efficiency schemes
(e.g., ECO4, Green Homes Grant).
Knowledge of
low-carbon technologies
and sustainability in retrofit projects.
Certification or additional training in
retrofit coordination
and quality assurance processes.
Experience working in
multi-disciplinary teams
and managing large-scale retrofit projects.
