to join our small, ambitious team in Newark-upon-Trent.
A key requirement for this role is the preparation of detailed Building Regulations packages, including liaising directly with building control officers. You will also support projects through planning and tender stages, with opportunities to grow into independent project delivery and involvement during construction.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive candidate with strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations, looking to take ownership of projects in a supportive but fast-paced studio.
Responsibilities
Carry out measured site surveys and prepare existing drawings.
Produce sketch options, planning drawings, and supporting statements.
Prepare Building Regulations drawings and technical packages, and manage liaison with building control officers.
Submit planning applications via the Planning Portal.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, planning officers, and contractors.
Support tender documentation and contractor liaison.
Regular site visits (mainly London) to take notes, photos, and updates.
As you progress in the role, you will work towards:
Managing projects independently from survey to building regulations and tender stage.
Acting as a key client contact and running projects with minimal oversight.
Attending site during construction to support delivery and ensure design intent is carried through.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Strong proficiency in
Revit
(essential) and familiarity with
AutoCAD
.
Demonstrable experience preparing Building Regulations drawings and packages.
Knowledge of UK planning and building regulations processes.
Excellent organisation and time management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, use initiative, and problem-solve.
Desirable (or areas to grow into):
Tender and contractor coordination experience.
Familiarity with London borough planning systems.
Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D modelling/rendering.
Driving licence (helpful for site visits).
