About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic
Area Manager
to lead and oversee a portfolio of Residential and Supported Living services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
This role is perfect for someone with a strong operational background who thrives on driving excellence, embedding a positive culture, and ensuring compliance with CQC standards across multiple services. You will provide strategic leadership, business insight, and hands-on operational management to support Registered Managers and deliver outstanding outcomes for the people we support.

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Lead and oversee multiple services
, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, vision, and values.
Maintain CQC compliance and inspection readiness
, supporting managers with audits, action plans, and governance reviews.
Drive service improvement
by analysing KPIs, incident data, and trends to deliver person-centred, outcome-focused care.
Manage budgets and resources
, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality services.
Develop and grow services
by building relationships with commissioners, ICBs, and local authorities, and contributing to bids and tenders.
Oversee safe transitions
for new individuals, ensuring assessments, support plans, and risk management are in place.
Line manage and coach Registered Managers
, leading recruitment, retention, training, and HR escalations.
Provide crisis leadership
, participating in the on-call rota and managing escalations during emergencies.
Engage stakeholders
, acting as a key point of contact for commissioners, safeguarding boards, families, and regulators.
Promote safeguarding and risk management
, investigating incidents and ensuring a strong culture of safety and accountability.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
Proven experience managing multiple health and social care services.
Strong track record of achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" CQC ratings.
Skilled in auditing, KPI monitoring, and turnaround of underperforming services.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop Registered Managers and teams.
Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care (or equivalent).
Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in budgets and growth strategies.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
