Role summary
We're looking for an ambitious, commercially-minded
Area Sales Manager
to grow sales and market share across a defined territory. You will lead field sales activity, build and manage key customer relationships, and work cross functionally with internal teams (sales support, operations, purchasing and marketing) to deliver outstanding service and meet sales targets.
Key responsibilities
Own sales performance for the assigned territory develop and execute a sales plan to meet and exceed targets and margins.
Generate new business and develop existing accounts across channels (contractors, specifiers, distributors, installers, showrooms).
Build strong relationships with key decision-makers: contractors, architects, specifiers and distribution partners.
Lead the tendering and quoting process for commercial projects; manage pricing and negotiate commercial terms.
Forecast sales and provide accurate pipeline reporting. Maintain CRM/ERP records (e.g., customer activity, opportunities and forecasts).
Work closely with Sales Administrators and internal teams to ensure orders, deliveries and project handovers are executed flawlessly.
Identify market opportunities, competitor activity and product gaps; feed insights into product and marketing strategy.
Drive promotional and showroom activity in the territory; represent Aura Flooring at trade shows, customer events and meetings.
Monitor KPIs (sales, conversion, margin, accounts receivable) and take corrective action where required.
Ensure excellent customer service standards and compliance with company policies and health & safety procedures.
Experience & skills
Essential
Proven B2B sales experience (minimum 3-5 years) with a strong track record of meeting targets.
Experience selling into construction, contract flooring, building merchants or similar sectors.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills; comfortable preparing and presenting proposals and tenders.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Experience using CRM/ERP systems to manage pipelines and forecasts.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across the territory.
Desirable
Knowledge of flooring products and specification processes.
Experience with tendering for commercial projects and working with architects/specifiers.
Familiarity with systems such as Salesforce/MayneCS or other ERP/CRM platforms.

Qualifications
Educated to A-level or equivalent; degree or professional sales qualification is advantageous but not required.
