Mayor's Weekend is a special community initiative designed to bring people together through art, culture, food, and shared experiences. This year, we are hosting events across South London that celebrate creativity, unity, and community spirit. From workshops to exhibitions, guided activities, and cultural showcases, the weekend will be filled with opportunities to connect, learn, and give back.
As an Art and Craft Coach, you will design and deliver engaging sessions in various art forms, including drawing, painting, paper craft, mixed media, and more. You will support students in developing their artistic abilities, encourage experimentation, and help build confidence through art.
Availability
We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to
facilitate group art sessions
for participants of up to 20 people. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about creativity, enjoy working with others, and are confident leading hands-on art and craft activities.

Payment
This role offers a competitive rate of
20 per hour
, with a requirement of
4hours of work per day
with sessions scheduled exclusively on
Saturdays and Sundays

Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate art sessions
that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the goals of the program.
Guide participants
in learning various art techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media.
Encourage creativity and self-expression
in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Adapt teaching methods
to accommodate different learning styles, skill levels, and group dynamics.
Provide constructive feedback
to help individuals improve their artistic abilities
Set up and organize art materials
before each session, and ensure proper clean-up afterwards.
Ensure safety and care
in the use of tools, materials, and workspace.
Promote participation and confidence
, especially among shy or hesitant learners.
Maintain a positive group atmosphere
, fostering teamwork and mutual respect.
Collaborate with program coordinators
or other coaches to ensure smooth delivery of sessions.
Requirements:
A strong interest or background in visual arts (e.g., drawing, painting, crafts, mixed media)
Previous experience working with groups or leading creative sessions (preferred but not essential)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage and motivate participants of varying ages and skill levels
Well-organized, punctual, and reliable
Creative, patient, and enthusiastic about teaching art
Ability to manage time and materials effectively during sessions
Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
