Department Overview
The purpose of the Brand Marketing team is to generate increased brand love, awareness and consideration in customers, encouraging existing customers to shop more with us and new customers to consider Dunelm as a shopping destination. Our brand platform, The Home of Homes, is supported by owned channels, including ATL and organic social, as well as earned media and influencer engagement, underpinned by consistent creative and tone of voice.
We work closely with the Commercial teams, Digital Trading and Digital Marketing to ensure the seamless promotion of our fantastic product offering and the work we do as a responsible retailer to support our local communities and the world in which we operate.
What you'll be doing
Responsible for driving the direction, growth and excellence of our creative work, the Art Direction Styling Manager will interpret how all the Dunelm product is styled for the overall visual creative approach for our shoots and set the team vision and a consistent tone of voice that is always seasonally appropriate and puts the customer first. Responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with brief owners and the creative team to ensure all final images are of a high standard and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure that products are styled in a consistent, accurate and engaging Dunelm way, which sets us apart from our competitors.
  • Manage the lighting direction with the photographers making sure there is a consistency and considered approach to each shoot.
  • Create mood boards, story boards, production and set build briefs while overseeing the styling of all shoots.
  • Ensure the shoot targets are met, product is shot in a logical and priority order and communicating with the wider teams regularly.
  • Working with the production teams to source locations, models and work to budgets.
  • Align trend direction from the Design team to represent product in a unified and consistent way across all platforms there should be one brand message in store and across the website.
  • Build strong relationships with the Buying, Design, Social and PR teams to review upcoming intake to inform styling decisions and ensure our presentation is consistently current, engaging and supports the buying strategy.
  • Line manage, train and mentor any direct reports, championing their individual development and enhancing the overall success of the team.
  • Be instrumental in the sign-off process for all projects, driving creative consistency.
  • Conducting high profile shoots with external teams on a variety of locations UK and abroad.
What we'll look for in you
  • Ability to provide floor support across teams with sample issues, equipment issues and deadline challenges liaising with the relevant stakeholders where required and ensuring any risks are raised and prioritised daily.
  • Outstanding people management skills and a genuine desire to mentor the team.
  • Be an aspirational role model for the Creative team to look up to.
  • Significant experience in Creative, capable of delivering print and digital creative from concept to publish.
  • A passion and understanding of photography, video and design.
  • Working knowledge across interior, fashion and food through composition and direction.
  • Good understanding of social media platforms and how we can deliverer content efficiently.
  • An understanding of pre and post production processes.
  • In-tune with sector competition and industry developments.
  • Previous line management experience and coaching ethos.
  • Influencing ability when presenting Creative to key stakeholders.
  • Strong problem management skills with the ability to navigate and respond quickly to challenges.
  • Experience briefing studio teams.
  • Able to balance the creative goals with the principle of efficient and well planned production.
  • Adaptable and able to work on multiple tasks and prioritise to meet the business needs.
  • Highly collaborative, encouraging positive relationships and ways of working.
  • Passionate brand ambassador for Dunelm.
  • An understanding of creative suits such as indesign, photoshop etc.
