A welcoming and creative 11-18 secondary school in Bath, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, is looking to appoint a committed and innovative Art ECT to join their highly regarded Visual Arts Department from January 2026.
About the Role
The appointed teacher will teach Art & Design across KS3-KS5, developing students' technical ability and creative confidence. The role involves teaching both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum, supporting students in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
ECTs benefit from a comprehensive induction programme that includes dedicated mentor support, reduced timetable, and opportunities to observe experienced teachers. The school places a strong focus on creativity and encourages teachers to bring fresh ideas into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire artistic exploration.
Guide students through GCSE and A-Level coursework, including annotation and portfolio work.
Encourage independent thinking and critical reflection.
Contribute to art exhibitions, workshops, and community partnerships.
Support cross-curricular initiatives with DT, English, and Humanities.
Participate in whole-school events and enrichment opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications
QTS/PGCE in Art & Design.
Creative approach to teaching and willingness to develop professionally.
Strong understanding of current exam specifications.
