Penrice Academy is seeking a creative, practical, and committed individual to join our team in a combined role as Art & Design Technology Technician and Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This exciting opportunity will allow you to work across two dynamic and engaging subject areas, supporting both the technical and learning aspects of our creative curriculum. The role is for 37 hours a week term time plus 5 INSET days.

As a Technician, you will play a key role in preparing and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment for both Art and Design Technology lessons. You'll support staff in delivering safe, well organised, and inspiring practical sessions, contributing to a rich and engaging learning environment for our students. Your attention to detail, creativity, and ability to work independently will be essential in this role.

Alongside your technician duties, you will also take on responsibilities as an HLTA, working directly with students to support their learning. This will include assisting with small group interventions, 1:1 support, and supporting lessons across the curriculum under the direction of teaching staff. Your ability to build positive relationships and support students' personal and academic development will be key to your success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about creative subjects and education, and who thrives in a varied, hands-on role. Experience in either an education or workshop/studio setting is desirable, and HLTA status or an equivalent qualification is welcomed - however, training and development opportunities will be provided for the right candidate. The role of HTLA can allow progression to a teaching apprenticeship or ITT with the right qualifications
