Overall Purpose of the role:
Artsmark is Arts Council England's national schools programme, empowering teachers with the skills they need to embed arts, culture and creativity across the whole curriculum. Schools are celebrated and recognised for their exceptional commitment to creativity with the Artsmark Award, accredited by Arts Council England - the only award for arts and culture provision in schools in England.
The Artsmark team includes a full-time Officer, Development and a job-share Officer, Operations. All Officer roles adhere to the same core job description, but responsibilities are split between operational delivery and programme development to ensure the smooth running of the programme.
This Artsmark Officer, Operations post will support the Artsmark Senior Officer- Operations, in the day to day running of Artsmark Award including partnership management and overseeing the Artsmark inbox, school registrations and assessment processes, reporting and ongoing delivery and training for schools.
Main day to day responsibilities:
You will be contributing to the day-to-day delivery of Artsmark Award including managing school registrations, maintaining and providing information and management data. As part of the regular responsibilities of the Artsmark programme, this role will oversee management and development of the data system that holds information on schools on their Artsmark journeys.
In this role you will also be working as part of a team to carry out assessment and award processes including managing freelance assessors and communicating effectively with schools around awards processes.
You will provide information, advice and guidance (both internally and externally) regarding Artsmark Award and oversee the management of the Artsmark inbox.
You will ensure appropriate templates and resource materials are available to support schools to develop their arts and cultural offer.
You may represent the organisation at external meetings, seminars and conferences as appropriate and liaise with partners to support the delivery of Artsmark.
You will keep up to date about developments in the cultural education sector, disseminating information to colleagues as required.
You will provide regular updates and reports to the Artsmark Senior Officer, and may be required to analyse various types of data and reports, providing analysis, conclusions and recommendations. You may also be required to assist with responding to FOI requests or parliamentary questions.
You will be involved in stakeholder management activity, liaising directly with external stakeholders when required in a professional manner.
You will liaise with Comms team colleagues, in line with delivering the Artsmark Comms strategy.
Finally, you will contribute to the organisation's commitment to diversity and its implications for the arts and culture, promoting a diversity perspective in all aspects of the post's objectives and activities.

Support stakeholder management
Support the Senior Officer, Artsmark Development to test and explore targeted approaches to widening the focus of Artsmark including reach into alternative education settings
Support the development of CPD opportunities for teachers

Key internal relationships:
You may have line management responsibility for the Artsmark Assistant and work closely with colleagues across the National Children, Young People and Learning team. You will call on ACE teams in support of your work including the Data team, Investment team and Customer Services among others.
What do I need to bring to the role?
Essential (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
You will have experience of programme delivery with a keen appetite for data and attention to detail. You will have a strong commitment to providing excellent public value and accountability.
You will have experience of developing and delivering complex projects to support organisational needs.
Ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines and targets without losing necessary attention to detail and remaining calm under pressure.
Strong numeracy and analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
Skilled in using standard IT packages and the ability to learn bespoke IT systems including databases, as required. Confident in improving and supporting the introduction of new business systems and training of other colleagues.
You will also have proven experience of developing and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts and stakeholders in different sectors.
You will be able to work on your own initiative and can think creatively, but with good judgment about when to bring in others' expertise as part of a matrix team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate in a confident and engaging manner and influence individuals over whom there is no formal line-manager relationship.
You must have the ability to interpret complex information and make judgements about levels of risk.
Finally, you will also have a good understanding of the Arts Council's duty as a public body under current diversity legislation, the current diversity agenda and its relationship to the arts.
