Job Description

Hillhouse Quarry Group Ltd is a family-owned business operating throughout Scotland. The company is a major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, concrete products and operates road surfacing and civil engineering divisions.

We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Asphalt Plant Maintenance Fitter to join our dedicated team. This key role is responsible for maintaining and repairing asphalt plants and associated equipment across our sites in Troon, Cambuslang and Alloa, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all plant facilities.

Responsibilities:

Carry out routine maintenance on asphalt plant equipment, including mixers, screens, conveyors and related machinery. Diagnose faults and undertake effective repairs to minimise downtime. Source, order and install replacement parts as required. Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance and repair records. Ensure all plant and equipment operates in full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations. Assist with the installation, commissioning and upgrading of new plant equipment.

Skills & Experience:

Strong mechanical background with experience in asphalt or heavy engineering environments. Sound understanding of asphalt plant equipment and operations. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when required. Flexible and motivated approach to working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Plant Fitter or City & Guilds equivalent preferred. Candidates with relevant experience but without formal qualifications will also be considered. Full UK driving licence - a company vehicle will be provided.

Schedule:

Day shift: Monday to Friday - 06:00 to 16:00 One weekend per month on rotation
