We are looking for an Asphalt Plant Supervisor to join our team at Llandarcy. You will be responsible in overseeing the safe operations of the asphalt plant through stock keeping, production and quality.

Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Ensure all permits of work and risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed to meet any task that needs be to carried out.
Oversee safe discharge of bitumen & filler deliveries.
Chair site safety committee and carry out any actions raised.
Complete daily inspection of plants and cross check operators' daily inspections are completed correctly recorded, record and action any required tasks, to maintain site safety.
Ensure the safe operation of all fixed and mobile plant operations at site in accordance of the 1974 HASAW Act and, and site rules.
Understanding Quarry Regulations 1999 and Health & Safety At Work Act and company Policies.
Maintain level of high standards of best practice in all relevant areas and promote safe behaviour.
Delivery of weekly toolbox talks to staff, contractors and visitors and carry out of daily briefing at the start of every shift.
Carry out inductions for all site personnel, visitors, contractors and maintain records.
Appropriate reporting of any near hits, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and incidents through the company Highviz portal and manage actions and carry out safety interactions.
Carry out regular safety inspections and report and record defects and rectifying actions.
Ensure a Risk assessment and a safe system of work is in place for all key tasks.
Carry out incident initial investigation and reporting.
Carry out back to work and performance review's for team members onsite.
General Operations
Manage and coordinate daily production activities.
Ensure adherence to production schedules.
Monitor plant efficiency.
Oversee routine maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime, and carry out RCA on breakdowns to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure quality control measures are adhered to.
Carry daily QUESH sheet inspections.
Help investigate any complaints.
Manage levels of raw materials, and order when needed.
Carry out daily and end of month stock control and reporting to the line manager.
Manage man power levels to ensure safe and effective operation to business needs.
Ensure housekeeping is at a High standard.
Safe operation of fixed and mobile plant.
All aspects of budgetary control for the plant to meet budget P&L e.g. Raise Purchase Orders, Input and GRN materials delivered to site, and complete Daily and Monthly Materials Stock Sheets. Monitor control of site spend.
Collating and report on monthly performance KPI for your business unit for the Area Operations
Managing and driving operational performance through KPI's and OEE.
Liaise with management team and deliver to their expectations.
The ability and knowledge to operate fixed and Mobile plant to assist.
Person Specification
Good knowledge of Asphalts processes.
A good understanding of Microsoft Excel & Outlook.
Valid driving licence.
Good communication skills.
FEL, Telehandler and associated attachments.
Manual Handling Certificate
First Aid Certificate
SHE NVQ Level 4/QCF Level 6.
Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems.
Full knowledge and compliance to site planning constraints.
IOSH
Working knowledge of production processes, H&S and Environmental policies
Ability to multitask and manage change.
A flexible approach to working hours and availability of working weekends at times
Additional Terms of Employment
Contracted Hours - 47.5
Working Days & Hours - Due to the nature of this role your working days will range from Monday to Sunday with day and night work.
Overtime - Overtime hours are available with overtime rates
