Role Summary



Responsible for assembling composite components using hand and power tools, adhesives, and specialised equipment, ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and cleanliness standards. Tasks include inspecting parts, performing dimensional checks, following technical drawings, and troubleshooting assembly issues.

The Ideal candidate will have hands-on composite assembly experience, attention to detail, and familiarity with aerospace or high-performance manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities



Fitting, bonding, drilling, trimming, and fastening composite parts. Operating hand and power tools effectively. Operating hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measurement devices. Assembling subcomponents into final structures using adhesives, rivets, hardware, and fixtures. Working with ovens, laser engraving machines and assembly jigs. Inspecting parts for defects (voids, delamination, fibre misalignment). Performing dimensional checks and recording measurements. Undertaking assembly tasks, following and adhering to customer procedures and specifications in alignment of AS-9100 and ISO-9001 requirements. Follow engineering drawings, works orders, route cards, process control documents to specification. Conducting thorough quality checks and completing documentation for traceability and compliance within Route cards, Quality management and ERP systems. Troubleshooting assembly issues. Equipment setup and calibration. Handling chemicals (resins, solvents, adhesives) safely. Maintaining a clean, controlled environment to prevent contamination and FOD. Other duties as required.

Person Specification / Knowledge & Experience



Essential:

Proven experience in composite component assembly, such as carbon fibre, glass fibre, or advanced polymer structures. Hands-on experience with laminating, trimming, bonding, drilling, and finishing of composite components. Experience working from technical drawings, assembly manuals, or engineering specifications. Experience using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment. Familiarity with production environments requiring strict quality, safety, and cleanliness standards. Competent in using measurement tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges). Knowledge of adhesives, resins, curing processes, and environmental controls (e.g., cleanroom practices). Ability to identify defects, perform basic rework, and report non-conformances. Good understanding of health & safety requirements and safe handling of chemicals. Basic computer literacy for completing job cards, quality records, or ERP entries. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Reliable, punctual, and able to work to tight deadlines. Strong team player with good communication skills. Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands. A methodical and organised approach to work.
Desirable:

Previous work in aerospace, automotive, marine, motorsport, or high-performance manufacturing environments (desirable).
