We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assessment Manager to lead the coordination and delivery of all aspects of the assessment process. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of assessments across the programme cycle while upholding high standards of accuracy, compliance, and communication.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of 18.80 per hour + holiday pay
Assessment Operations
Plan, coordinate, and deliver all assessment activities, including production and distribution of materials, timetables, examiner liaison, and compliance with University Examination Conventions
Maintain and update the Assessment section of the virtual learning environment (Canvas)
Coordinate assessment registrations, resits, and submissions, ensuring deadlines are met
Oversee online systems for submission, marking, results entry, and configuration in line with programme rules
Collect and format exam questions; manage review and approval by examiners
Communication & Stakeholder Liaison
Serve as a key point of contact for assessment queries from students, faculty, and senior staff
Provide expert guidance on University policies and processes related to assessment
Liaise with internal and external examiners, Examination Schools, and central University offices
Prepare and disseminate assessment communications, results, and feedback to students
Academic Integrity & Governance
Submit assessments through Turnitin, handle plagiarism cases in line with Proctors' instructions
Provide documentation for disciplinary hearings or Subject Access Requests under strict confidentiality
Organise and support examination boards: logistics, documentation, catering, and reporting
Selection Criteria
Strong educational background
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Proven organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience liaising across departments
Advanced IT skills including proficiency in Excel and databases
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
