About the role



We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive

Assessment Officer

to join our Assessment Team in the newly designed Student and Academic Services (SAS) Directorate. In this role, you will provide specialist support for the day-to-day delivery of assessment activities, including assessment data collection, Examination Boards, formal examinations, and the production of certificates and transcripts (HEARs), working across teams within the University and with our external partners.

You willl play a key part in ensuring that assessment processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with regulatory requirements and deadlines. Working closely with colleagues, you'll help maintain high standards of service, accuracy, and professionalism in everything you do.

Who are we looking for?



We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience coordinating large-scale processes and providing advice on regulatory matters. You willl have excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Experience using student records systems or similar databases is essential, along with a strong customer service ethos and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You will bring a flexible, solution-focused approach and demonstrate sound judgement, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

A minimum of GCSE English and Maths (A or C or equivalent) is required. Experience in the Higher Education sector, a relevant degree or qualification, or professional membership (e.g. AHEP) would be an advantage.

How will you work



Flexible and connected (Professional Services) Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
