Overview:

The Asset and Configuration Management Lead will be responsible for aiding the design, build and operation of robust Asset and Configuration Management capabilities as part of a broader ITSMaaS initiative. This role requires a proactive and collaborative approach to establishing the end-to-end lifecycle management of IT assets and configuration items. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of ITIL principles and have a proven track record of successfully designing, building and implementing configuration management systems in a fast-paced MSP environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the definition, planning, implementation and governance of the Asset & Configuration Management processes and associated policies Design and deliver a logical and physical CMDB model enabling service mapping and lifecycle tracking. Collaborate with tooling teams to configure CMDB and asset modules within our ITSM platform Establish and document full lifecycle processes for hardware and software asset management Define and implement controls to ensure software licence tracking and compliance Develop processes to regularly audit and reconcile the CMDB ensuring data accuracy and integrity Conduct regular reviews of asset and configuration processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes Work closely with stakeholders to create reports and dashboards on asset utilisation, compliance, and configuration data Provide training and support to team members on asset and configuration management best practice

Qualifications:

Key Requirements:

ITIL v4 certification is essential. Demonstrable experience leading Asset & Configuration Management initiatives at scale
Proven ability to deliver CMDB and asset management solutions Strong knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) principles including licensing models
Hands on experience of ServiceNow and discovery tooling Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.


Desirable Skills:
ITIL v4 HVIT Certification ITIL v4 CDS or PIC certification SAM Certification (BCS, ITAM). Knowledge of SaaS Management, Cloud Licensing, consumption tracking Understanding of Compliance Frameworks (ISO 19770) * Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
