The role will involve working across eight Bioresources sites, which are located throughout the entire Wessex Water region, with a base location at Yeovil.


What you'll do

We are looking for a skilled, practical and self-motivated individual to support our Bioresources team. This rewarding role will see you ensure our assets remain serviceable and safe.



Within the role, you will be expected to work both individually and as part of a team while repairing and maintaining various assets. These include waste treatment process and civil assets on our Bioresources centres, including general maintenance and repairs on buildings and welfare facilities.



Typical day-to-day duties may include painting, fitting/repairing doors, concreting and general building and ground maintenance works, such as footpaths and fencing.



Your work will involve a mixture of indoor and outdoor work, which will include installing and maintaining pathways, track repairs, emergency site security works and health and safety works.



Additionally, the role will involve performing maintenance work on our process assets, such as settlement tank cleans and repairs, and clean water legionella tank cleans, while also working on various process plants, including Lagoons, reed beds and biological filters.



You will be:


scoping planned and ad hoc maintenance requests utilising resources effectively and assisting with the scheduling of work the point of contact for the Asset team's Improvement Operators and the wider Bioresources team driving ownership and ensuring works are completed safely to a high standard Working closely with the Regional Bioresources Operations Manager to limit the use of contractors and external spend.

PPE, tools, training, and a company van will be provided.


What you'll need

We are looking for someone from a building maintenance/groundworks background, who has qualifications or knowledge and experience of concrete, brick and block works.



You will ideally have carpentry skills and a knowledge of basic plumbing with relevant plant tickets to operate small plant (or a willingness to obtain these).



You will have a strong understanding of health, safety and welfare and will be a self-motivated, effective communicator with personal drive. In addition to this, you should have basic IT skills to work with our in-house systems.



Most important is the ability and willingness to work as part of a team to overcome any challenges presented on a day-to-day basis and deliver outputs.



Please note, you will need a valid, clean driving licence due to the remote nature of the role.
