Overview



Statera Energy Operations (SEO) operates a large portfolio of operational BESS and gas peaking plant sites (including the UKs largest operational BESS). We have established an Engineering Team and are looking for flexible, professional engineers to provide engineering support to the sites. In addition to supporting existing sites with issues that require escalating beyond first line service teams, a project management capability is being developed. This will enable us to manage and deliver capacity extensions to existing sites and provide newbuild capability (there is a multi-year roadmap of known project work). The salary will reflect the professional nature of the role.

What will you be doing?



Provide professional engineering support to the SEO portfolio of sites. This can include upgrades, troubleshooting and dealing with compliance issues. Project manage mechanical, electrical or control and instrumentation engineering projects, both small and large (may be up to circa 30m in value). Source, engage and manage contractor support where required. Represent SEO as the end-user during hazard analysis and design reviews of new-build projects. Liaise with SEO Field Service Engineers and Control Room personnel to resolve issues escalated beyond these first line teams. Perform a Project Engineer role within larger projects as the lead on a specific area. For example; Project Electrical Engineer on a 50 MW, 2 hour BESS system currently entering the design phase. Ensuring high quality of work is achieved on your own and contracted works by application of an appropriate level of quality assurance.

Role Requirements



Understand and apply detailed technical documents, for example, British and International Standards. Develop appropriate scope / technical specification documents in order to engage specialist contractors. Understand technical drawings (electrical, mechanical, P&IDs). Fault finding ability on all aspects of process plant (mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation). Produce high quality written documents, for example: contract RFQ, technical specifications, engineering reports. Lead hazard analysis of smaller issues and projects and apply appropriate techniques, for example: FMEA, HAZID, HAZOP, risk assessment. Communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Person Requirements



Electrical and/or industrial automation biased skillset. Flexibility and adaptability to support a range of cross-discipline engineering issues. Including a willingness to develop understanding beyond your core engineering discipline to achieve this. Proactive and able to work independently on own initiative. Well organised and with a structured, logical approach to problem solving. Chartered Engineer status an advantage, but not essential.

Location



Nominally three days at SEO headquarters at Wakefield or visiting site, with two days working from home. Flexibility is required to spend greater periods of time on site where assigned projects and engineering issues make necessary.
