Purpose of the Role
The Asset, Store & Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining all company assets, tools, vehicles, and hired equipment across HVSS sites and storage facilities. This role ensures all equipment is operational, correctly logged, and efficiently distributed to teams. The role also oversees the hire and off-hire process of equipment, vehicle servicing schedules, and ensures compliance with company policies for asset tracking and fleet management.
Key ResponsibilitiesAsset & Store Management
Maintain the company's asset register, ensuring all items are accurately logged, tagged, and traceable.
Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure all equipment is in operational condition.
Manage the sign-in and sign-out process for all tools and equipment issued to staff.
Identify and order replacements or repairs for damaged, missing, or non-operational equipment.
Visit sites monthly to verify that site managers are keeping asset logs updated and in line with company policy.
Support the digital asset tracking system (e.g., Asset Tiger or equivalent) to maintain accurate real-time records.
Equipment Hire & Off-Hire
Coordinate the hiring and off-hiring of equipment as required for projects.
Ensure hired equipment is cost-effective, fit for purpose, and returned on time to avoid unnecessary charges.
Maintain accurate hire records and liaise with suppliers for timely collection and delivery.
Fleet Management
Oversee the booking of company vans and vehicles for servicing, MOTs, and repairs.
Keep an up-to-date log of all vehicle documentation, service records, and maintenance schedules.
Ensure staff complete and submit weekly vehicle inspection checklists.
Monitor and report any issues related to vehicle damage, misuse, or overdue services.
Support insurance, tax, and compliance processes relating to the fleet.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in asset, logistics, or fleet management (preferably within construction, utilities, or engineering).
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of asset tracking systems and Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to plan and manage workloads across multiple sites.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Strong communication skills and confidence to engage with site managers and suppliers.
Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to assess and manage physical equipment.
