Total Projects (UK) Ltd, alongside its sister company Total Electrical Contractors Ltd, is delivering high-quality fit-out, electrical and mechanical services across the UK. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an organised, proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to support our expanding finance function across both trading companies.
Based at Milton Park, this role reports directly to the Head of Finance and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth financial operation of the group.
Core Duties
Assisting with the process of monthly payroll for employees and subcontractors.
Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with statutory deadlines.
Assisting with month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
Conducting payment runs, supplier payment scheduling and remittance distribution.
Managing CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) subcontractor returns, monthly submissions and verification checks.
Preparing bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and monitoring cashflow.
Supporting with management accounts production and financial reporting.
Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance across all group companies.
Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments to resolve queries.
Assisting with audit preparation and providing supporting documentation when required.
Supporting the Head of Finance with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
Overseeing fixed asset registers.
Developing finance process documentation.
Supporting HR with onboarding/offboarding payroll requirements.
Helping implement new financial software or systems.
