About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail?driven
Assistant Accountant
to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Management Accountant and Head of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and robust financial information across all group entities.
This is a varied and fast?paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives in a multi?entity environment, and is motivated by continuous improvement. You will also work closely with venue administration teams to ensure financial processes are followed consistently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain Xero for multiple group entities
Complete intercompany reconciliations
Manage employee expenses
Raise all sales invoices and maintain accurate revenue records
Prepare and maintain monthly deferred revenue calculations
Perform daily reconciliations across multiple bank accounts, credit cards and online payment platforms
Produce weekly Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports, including monitoring and follow?up
Process all purchase invoices and support supplier management
Prepare weekly and monthly supplier payment runs
Assist with basic cashflow preparation and forecasting
Complete monthly accounting adjustments including prepayments, accruals, stock and fixed assets
Support the Management Accountant and CFO with ad?hoc analysis and special projects
Contribute to the implementation of automation and process improvements across transaction processing
Carry out monthly internal audit checks to ensure compliance and accuracy
Prepare and submit monthly CIS returns
Requirements & Skills
Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential)
Minimum AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
Experience within a hospitality or leisure environment (desirable)
Confident user of Microsoft Excel
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Strong problem?solving skills and the ability to use initiative
A positive attitude and pride in producing high?quality work
